SAT PREP
SAT Mathematics Preparation Class
TIME: Every Tuesday after school
Room: B2227 Instructor: Miss Newbury
The SAT mathematics after school class is designed to address all mathematics content on the new SAT. The topics covered include numbers and operations, algebra and functions, geometry and measurement, data analysis, statistics and probability. Students will see topics leading up to Algebra II. Students also learn how to approach math questions in different ways.
Each session starts with a small warm up on a specific topic. The students will take a timed practice math section. Students will learn the idea of timing themselves through each mathematics section. After the test section, the answers will be available and difficult problems from the practice section will be demonstrated for everyone. Tips and hints will be provided for common SAT problems. It is important that students attend classes on a regular basis and stay the entire length of the session in order to receive maximum benefit. Each week is a different topic and practice section. Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to attend.
