All USI students at Montgomery are empowered to focus on the process of writing a research paper. These steps are designed to prepare students for the research paper written in USII. Although the USI process will not result in a complete research paper, each step will be evaluated as if the paper would be written. USI serves as a foundation for USII and historical research beyond.
In order to develop an effective research pace, assignments are due on dates spaced relatively evenly through the end of the Fourth Marking Period. Topics may be selected from Chapter 14 through Chapter 18 with the approval of the teacher. The conclusion of this project will coincide with the end of the course, as preparation for one's future in history.
