Montgomery High School Parent/Teacher/Student Association PTSA Student Grants Awarded 2011-12
These Grants were awarded to MHS students for the purpose of implementing an innovative idea which would enhance the MHS experience and/or improve the MHS community and/or environment.Students may apply for a student grant any time throughout the school year as long as funds are available.

Grant to support two projects with the MHS Human Relations Council.
Grant funds will cover art supplies to complete a project connected with T-Shirt Day and paint for all students to create spirit banners for Cougar Pride Day (June 1)

Hunter Mulford '12 & Emily Campeas '12 Grant to start up a program entitled "Balloons In June"
to both congratulate our graduating seniors, and to inspire community spirit and
connection to our schools.

Alison Resnick Grant to create and advertise the first Mind's Amaranth Poetry Festival to be held at MHS.
PTSA Student Grants Awarded 2009-10
Jake Rubin, Conor O'Brien, Taylor Neveling, John Foley, Pat Hurley Grant to cover start-up costs of "Monty Farmville" - a raised-bed organic garden project to grow vegetables in a school courtyard. Funds will be used to purchase lumber, organic topsoil and seeds. Advisor: Ms. Fine. Progress on Monty Farmville raised beds construction.
Vinay Bhaskara Grant to cover start-up costs of breakfast bagel sales project to both raise funds for the American Red Cross relief effort in Haiti and to offer a healthy in-school option for student and staff breakfast. Vinay will work with TREND for additional volunteers and advisor Ms. D'Amore. Ashley Gottfried, Kelly Jenkins, Christina Hartnack, Barbara Nyholm Grant to purchase supplies to complete their T-shirts to Blankets project for Homefront. The students will be collecting T-shirts in advisory classes and sewing them into blankets to donate to Homefront, an outreach center in Trenton.

Grant to support Environmental Week pretzel prizes to encourage the education and implementation of recycling projects during MHS Environmental Week.

Grant for "Operation Courtyard" to enhance the MHS environment by planting flowers and shrubs in the health wing courtyard to "make the environment more peaceful and appealing for students as they walk by." Funds will be used to purchase plants, seeds, soil, and lumber for flower boxes.

Grant to supplement the "Media Center Aquarium Project". Funds will be used to purchase fish, filter and a secure lid for the aquarium.

The following is a list of PTSA Students Grants awarded during the school year of 2008-2009. These Grants were awarded to MHS students for the purpose ofimplementing an innovative idea which would enhance the MHS experienceand/or improve the MHS community and/or environment.
Student Grant Awarded to: Members of the Freshman Class In remembrance of their friend Omar Chaudary. To supplement the purchase of a bronze plaque to be placed by the memorial tree (purchased by the Freshman Class).
Student Grant Awarded to: Michael Gan To frame MHS Band photos so they could be hung in the halls at Montgomery High School. Student Grant Awarded to: Ms. Domino '09, Ms. Itzeva '09, Mr. Goetze '09 and Mr. Bilsky '09 for the purpose of replanting the Senior Courtyard
Student Grant Awarded to: Ms. Gleason '09 for the purpose of creating an environmental habitat for birds around the MHS campus
Student Grant Awarded to: Ms. Wilmot '09 for the purpose of expanding the publication of the Student Literary Magazine
