Dance Dance Revolution has officially begun at VES. With the large growing population of video gamers, what a better way to motivate students through the use of technology in the gymnasium. DDR is a video game played on our huge screen that requires students to follow a rhythmic pattern while dancing on mats.

The last few classes students have been reaping the benefits while hitting the dance mats to the sounds of DDR. Students are developing foot-eye coordination by watching the screen and dancing to the rhythmic patterns. Along with developing their foot-eye coordination, DDR is an aerobic workout which benefits the heart and lungs. Students have been taking their heart rates and comparing it to the intensity of the workout. Students have learned that the harder they work out the faster their heart beats. They are aware that the heart needs to beat faster in order to deliver oxygen to the rest of the body.

If you want to know more about DDR or where you can get it feel free to contact me! What a great way to spend a rainy day inside while still getting your exercise!
