Welcome Back!
Are you ready for September?WE ARE! |
Welcome to 5th grade!!! My name is Mrs. Whitehouse and I will be teaching you Language Arts and Social Studies this year. I hope you have had a wonderful summer and look forward to beginning a new year in a new school. This summer, I have been busy preparing the classroom just for you! So that we can all get to know each other, I have been gathering some pictures and mementos that tell a little about me to share with you and I would like you to do the same. During the first week of school (I will tell you which day when I see you), please bring a brown paper bag with 5 items that you would like to share with the class. These items can be things from the summer or from your life, but they should reflect your uniqueness and personality. We’re going to have a lot of fun sharing and writing about these items and writing, so make sure you choose things that are very important to you! Other things to look forward to doing this year in school include reading a lot of different genres, or types, of books! We will also be exploring the early history of the I am very excited about the upcoming year, and I hope you are, too! But please enjoy the rest of your summer and read some good books! We will see you in September!
Mrs. Whitehouse Just in case you did not receive the supply list over the summer, your student will need to be prepared for school with the following items: For Language Arts, your child should have: - 3 composition notebooks for reading, word study, and writing - post it notes (3x3 are best) - colored pens, pencils, tape, white out, highlighters, pencil case - take-home folder for HW and important papers - gallon Ziploc bag to keep all reading books and post it notes safe - hand sanitizer For Social Studies: - 2 spiral notebooks - tape in dispensers For the classroom: - box of tissues - roll of paper towels I strongly recommend getting a cheap portable USB key that you can use for school projects through the year.
