| Science in the News||Scientist Poster|
|1. Find a recent (within the last month) article in a newspaper or magazine about a scientific topic. It can be in print or from an online source.|
1. Choose any living scientist
2. Read the article carefully. Make sure you can really understand it.
Ask Mrs. Pitt or Ms. Ledebuhr for the handout and rubric.
|2. Use an encyclopedia, books or the internet to find out about the person and their scientific work.|
|3. Write a summary of the article and fill out the questions on the handout.||3. Make a poster with pictures and information about the scientist. Your poster should include biographical information as well as what type of work the scientist does.|
|4. Attach a copy of the article to your report. Make sure you refer to the rubric!||4. Include a bibliography documenting what resources you used.|
|5. Turn in your report to Mrs. Pitt for grading.||5. Check with Mrs. Pitt to schedule a time to present your poster.|
