Science in the News
| Scientist Poster |
1. Find a recent (within the last month) article in a newspaper or magazine about a scientific topic. It can be in print or from an online source.
| 1. Choose any living scientist |
2. Read the article carefully. Make sure you can really understand it. Ask Mrs. Pitt or Ms. Ledebuhr for the handout and rubric. | 2. Use an encyclopedia, books or the internet to find out about the person and their scientific work. |
3. Write a summary of the article and fill out the questions on the handout.
| 3. Make a poster with pictures and information about the scientist. Your poster should include biographical information as well as what type of work the scientist does. |
4. Attach a copy of the article to your report. Make sure you refer to the rubric!
| 4. Include a bibliography documenting what resources you used. |
| 5. Turn in your report to Mrs. Pitt for grading. | 5. Check with Mrs. Pitt to schedule a time to present your poster. |
