Summer School at MHS is open only to students who will be in grades 9-12 for the 2013-2014 academic year. No students who will be entering 8th grade for the 2013-2014 school year are eligible to take the courses either for the purposes of attaining credit or enrichment.
This summer, Montgomery High School will offer summer school classes for credit in Geometry, Financial Literacy, Algebra II and Summer Writing Clinic (which includes personal narratives and college essay writing). We will also be offering an enrichment class called "Precalculus Preview" which is designed for students who will enroll in Precalculus in the 2013-2014 school year.
The courses will be taught over a five week period beginning June 27th and ending August 1st (summer school will be closed July 4th-5th).
Geometry and Algebra II are full year courses (120 hours - $1,050) and will be in session every day from 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Financial Literacy, Precalculus Preview and Summer Writing Clinic are half-year courses (60 hours - $535) and will also run from 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. but will be offered in two sessions:
Session 1: June 27th – July 16th
Session 2: July 17th – August 1st
**Please note the Financial Literacy class will satisfy EITHER the state graduation requirement in Financial Literacy, OR count for 2.5 MHS credits toward career exploration.
Application materials should be completed and returned to the MHS Guidance office, attn: Keith Glock.
There will be in-person registration from Tuesday, June 25th and Wednesday, June 26th from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the MHS Guidance office provided there are still seats available in the program.
