Jake Lipowski '12 (Buffalo State University)I am currently a sophomore at Buffalo State College and playing on the football team. My time at Montgomery High School is one that I will forever be able to look back on and reflect with such great memories and experiences. There is no doubt Montgomery is a bubble pretty well sheltered from the real world, but that doesn’t mean that I wasn’t well prepared for what life and college was ready to throw at me. One of the biggest differences between college and Montgomery is that people don’t care about you as much as they do in high school. It is sad but true. The teachers and faculty at Montgomery want to see you succeed and are constantly looking to help you. I’m not saying that the people you meet after your high school years don’t want to help you, but you have to be willing to seek out that help.I highly recommend getting involved in things at school. Being involved with multiple sports throughout my four years, and extracurricular activities like the Boy Scouts have taught me invaluable lessons and formed friendships that I hope will last a lifetime. There are so many people I could thank for my time at Montgomery from coaches to teachers, and other faculty members but the list will go on for a while. Whatever it is you are doing with your time in Montgomery, I hope you all are enjoying your high school years to the fullest. Best of luck in the future.
