Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Ziedonis

It was a pleasure meeting each of you at conferences and discussing your child’s progress! I am very proud of their growth!

In reading workshop, we will  learn to recognize poet's tools: line breaks, white space, comparisons, personification, voice  and how these tools  help readers to understand the meaning of the poem. Next, we will learn to add text evidence to support our thinking as we jot our thoughts when reading fiction books. In writing workshop, the children will learn to include poet's tools into their poems: similes, metaphors, personification, precise action words, voice, and more. In addition, we will work with a partner to edit our poems.

In math, we are completing Unit 2, Place Value and Measurement.  Here are the Math at Home activities if you wish your child to practice the concepts taught in this unit. Make sure you are in Set 2 in the drop down window. We will take the assessment for this unit on Wednesday, December 7.

Next, we will begin Unit 3, Addition and Subtraction Within One Hundred. Click to read:
