U.S. History I

This course will explore the amazing transformation of America from British colonies to world power.  During our travels through history we will examine the events, personalities and politics that shaped America.  We will focus on the impact of immigration, sectionalism, industrialization, as well as the resulting social changes that occurred during this period. Be prepared to take on the role of an historian as we analyze historical documents, dig into the lives of the people who shaped America, and argue the causes and impacts of events like the Revolution, Civil War and Spanish-Cuban-American War.  Our studies will focus on two key questions:  What does America stand for? and What is our role in the World?
