About Our District
The Montgomery Township School District is a high-performing public school district dedicated to providing an exceptional educational experience for all students. Located in Skillman, New Jersey, the district serves a diverse student body of approximately 4,400 across its five schools--two elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school:
Orchard Hill Elementary School (Preschool - Grade 2)
Village Elementary School (Grades 3-4)
Lower Middle School (Grades 5-6)
Upper Middle School (Grades 7-8)
Montgomery High School (Grades 9-12)
Our mission is to empower every student to succeed in a diverse, dynamic, global society by providing quality educational experiences in a caring environment. In addition to robust academic and co-curricular offerings, each school also has numerous Social Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives to further support the development of our students.
Montgomery High School (9-12) offers a challenging academic environment that consistently produces some of the highest-achieving learners in the state. Students at MHS routinely rank among the top of their peers in SAT and Advanced Placement (AP) testing. The school offers 20-plus Advanced Placement courses, 30-plus Honors/Accelerated courses, and a vast array of challenging academic electives. With 34 sports teams and over 50 clubs, MHS also gives students plenty of co-curricular opportunities to enhance their high school experience. From the National Honor Society to the Interact Club to our renowned Visual and Performing Arts programs, there's something for every student to participate in.
Montgomery Upper (7-8) and Lower Middle Schools (5-6) prepare students for high school with a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum across all subjects. LMS builds a community grounded in equity, empathy, inclusion, and kindness where all stakeholders are the unity in our community. Upon entering UMS, students learn to foster the core values of community, acceptance, resilience, and empathy. LMS offers students 15 co-curricular clubs while UMS offers over 30 in addition to 14 sports teams.
Village (3-4) and Orchard Hill Elementary Schools (Preschool - 2) allow our youngest students to take their first steps towards becoming innovative thinkers, effective communicators, compassionate citizens, and resilient individuals. Children will spend time developing their reading, writing, and problem-solving skills in whole class and small-group settings. They will also learn how to be strong digital citizens through the use of technology in the classroom.
Each school has an active parent group:
