    Guidance and College Series Events:
     
     
    On Monday, June 8th at 7 p.m., the Guidance Department presented "The New SAT."  Follow the link for the presentationThe New SAT
     
    On April 15th the Guidance Department presented "Welcome to High School" for the parents of current 8th graders. This presentation included information about successfully transitioning your 8th grader to high school. Follow the link for the presentation: Welcome to MHS
     
    The Guidance Office provides several programs throughout the year that help guide and assist both parents and students through the college admission process...
     
    On May 7th the presentation focused on how students can best be prepared for the increased demands of college life.  This evening was geared towards current juniors and seniors and the academic, interpersonal/social, and emotional skills they need to be most successful in managing this transition.  It was presented by Matt Frawley, Nic Voge, and Belinda Seiger, all from Princeton University.
     
    On January 12th the College Series presentation topic, "Finding the Best Fit Colleges," was geared towards juniors and their parents.  Rob Franek, Princeton Review’s National College Expert and author of The Best 379 Colleges, presented the seminar for students and their families.  His talk included “How to Be a Savvy College Shopper and Applicant,” “Insider Scoop on Colleges,” and “How to Get the Most Financial Aid.”  
     
    The College Series Presentation on December 15th was geared to parents of sophomores and what they should know now about the upcoming college process.
     
    The topic of the presentation on December 8th was Financial Aid.  
     
    The November 4th presentation was about requirements for college athletes--what you need to know about the NCAA.  
     
    The presentation on October 16th was on the topic of Financial Aid.

    The College Series Presentation  on September 22nd at 7 PM was about the college application process and was geared towards parents of seniors.  If you missed this presentation, it can be found here.

     FREE! SAT Prep Classes After School:
     
    Free SAT Prep classes are offered after school at MHS for both Math and Verbal
    Starting September 2015, classes will once again be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays
    Verbal prep in room B1127 and Math prep in room B2217.  Please check back late August/early September for an actual start date.
