Community Letter from Acting Superintendent and Board President, 5/21/20
Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff,
We would like to welcome Ms. Alicia Schauer to the Montgomery Township School District as our Business Administrator and Board Secretary. The Board of Education approved her appointment at Tuesday’s board meeting. Alicia, who will be joining us in July, comes to us with many years of public education service, including teaching experience. Alicia is a long time resident of Montgomery Township and she is fond of and familiar with our school district, as her children are proud graduates of MTSD.
Montgomery High School Principal, Mr. Paul Popadiuk, has led his team, with input from the 2020 graduates, in organizing a virtual graduation. While we all were looking forward to a typical celebration, this year we will unfortunately not be able to do so. However, the strength and positive attitudes of our graduates have been remarkable under these circumstances. Mr. Popadiuk shared a video with his senior class outlining what the plan is and sent a subsequent letter to the parents. Graduation will be held, virtually, on June 19, 2020 at 6 PM. Prior to this date, students will pick up their caps and gowns, speeches will be recorded and all will be scheduled to participate, dressed in caps and gowns, in the filming on the football field. All social distance protocols will be followed. We extend a warm thank you to Mr. Popadiuk, the class of 2020 and the high school staff for coordinating such a special event. We look forward to our Class of 2020 Commencement Ceremony.
As a reminder, our Kindergarten registration is open. Please see our district website for information on how to complete registration. Kid Connection information is also available.
Enjoy the long weekend. Monday is Memorial Day, a day to honor those who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. We would like to recognize all of our military families, and thank all who have served in the past and all who are serving at this time.
