Montgomery High School is thrilled to present this year’s Spring Musical, NEWSIES, with performances on March 21st and 22nd. Inspired by the real-life Newsies’ strike in 1899, the story is set in New York City and follows Jack Kelly, leader of a band of newsies. When newspaper publishers Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise the distribution prices, Jack rallies his comrades from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for the chance to earn a livable wage.

Based on the 1992 Film, NEWSIES the musical, premiered on Broadway in 2012 with music by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Harvey Fierstein. The production features exciting choreography, memorable characters, and classic songs like “Seize the Day,” “Carrying the Banner,” “King of New York,” and “Santa Fe.” 

Come see this captivating show that’s perfect for the whole family! Performances will be Friday, March 21st at 7 PM and Saturday, March 22nd at 2 PM and 7 PM in the MHS Performing Arts Center.
