The time has come to prepare for the Grade 5 Mid-Year Math Assessment. The purpose of this assessment is to give formative information on each student’s progress, provide students the opportunity to review concepts since the beginning of the year, and to provide children with the experience of a cumulative assessment. It’s that time of year again! LMS Interact is kicking-off its annual collection for the Montgomery Food Pantry. This has been a successful drive over the years, one that provides much-needed resources for families in the Montgomery community. LMS Interact decided to do the collection at this time (January/February) because it is a time when the Food Pantry has the greatest need: there are a flurry of donations around the holiday season, but unfortunately giving drops off significantly in the beginning months of the year. Each spring we begin transitioning the rising 7th grade students and their families to the Upper Middle School. Our Parent Orientation Program will be held on Thursday February 26th at 7pm in the UMS auditorium. The program will include important information regarding our schedule, course offerings and details of student life. The morning of February 26th we will host the students for their transition program which will include the same information along with a few “kid friendly” add-ons. Your attendance at our evening program will be important so that you and your student have all of the necessary information to begin 7th grade successfully. For those who cannot attend, we will post our presentation on the website and e-blast the pertinent scheduling information to all of you.

The New Jersey Department of Education has posted school and district HIB grades as stated in the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act. These grades were determined by a district self-assessment released by the New Jersey Department of Education Commissioner.
The attached guideline sheet is a copy of the district policy regarding the management of life-threatening health conditions in schools. This document was sent Oct. 2nd via e-blast to all parents and to all staff. Copies of this one page guideline were placed in all homeroom mailboxes before the start of school on Friday, October 3rd. Every effort was made to ensure that this guideline is discussed with all students and that they are directed to bring it home on the same day.
