Description:
In this course, students continue to progress towards the ACTFL and state standards novice-high proficiency level as they build comprehension skills and increase fluency.
What to expect:
Students will discover and work in the target language using various opportunities for input such as stories, music, and authentic resources. They will be assessed regularly in the three modes of communication:
interpersonal (unscripted conversation in order to complete a task)
interpretive (reading, listening)
and presentational (rehearsed and revised oral and written products).
The focus is on developing practical communication skills while making comparisons and connections to their own language and culture.
Thematic units include:
Unit 1 – La comida es cultura
Unit 2 – La vida es un carnaval
Unit 3 – El mundo en que vivo
Unit 4 – Fiesta Fatal (novel study)
