Description:

Students will discover aspects of the Hispanic culture and language, make connections with their own culture(s) and develop a keen awareness of select cultural products and practices. 

What to expect:

Students will explore the Spanish language and various cultures of Spanish-speaking communities in our world through art, dance, music, celebrations, architecture, values and contributions to global society. They will observe the connection between language and culture in order to begin to participate regularly in the three modes of communication:

interpersonal (unscripted conversation in order to complete a task)

interpretive (reading, listening)

presentational (rehearsed and revised oral and written products). 

The focus is on developing practical communication skills while making comparisons and connections to their own language and culture.
