Welcome to my classroom!  I'm excited to welcome your first graders this year as we explore and learn together.  My goal is to disguise learning as play as best we can in all subject areas - reading, writing, phonics, and math.  I'll also be modifying assignments to best meet the needs of each learner.  Our class will be pushing in with another first grade classroom for morning meeting, science and social studies lessons, which will provide great socialization opportunities.  We will also have a "soft start" each morning to allow for play and social skill development.  I can't wait to learn and grow with you!

I'm not new to teaching, but hope to bring the same enthusiasm that I've had since day one. I've taught for 10 years in South Plainfield and have experience in 3rd grade, 3rd grade inclusion, and PSD (preschoolers with disabilities). I've also taught preschoolers in South Philadelphia.  I earned both of my teaching degrees from The College of New Jersey (bachelor's class of 2007, M.Ed class of 2013).

I have two children and my husband at home.  You will hear me talk about them throughout instruction time as I work them into examples regularly. My daughter, Peyton, is going into second grade and she loves unicorns, cupcakes, glitter, and all things girly.  My son, Mason, is in his second year of preschool this year and is so excited to learn!  He loves trucks, Sesame Street, playgrounds, and making messes!

Let's make it a great school year!
