    Dear All,

My name is Jenny Egas, and I am a Village Elementary School 3rd and 4th-grade Spanish teacher.  I am originally from Lima City, the capital of Perú, in South America.

I have over 22 years of teaching experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in the Montgomery School system.

I teach Spanish to 3rd and 4th-grade students of VES twice in each 6-day cycle, for 45 minutes with each class. During class instruction, I use a wide variety of different activities in my teaching. I differentiate instructions. I effectively reach visual, auditory, as well as kinesthetic learners. I include the natural approach, cloze activities, interviews, music, videos, Total Physical Response (TPR), TPR Story Telling, and Cooperative Learning, among other techniques.

I am a firm believer that learning must be fun and engaging for students of all ages if they are to maximize their potential as learners. I use a variety of assessment strategies, instructions, and data, to plan teaching. I have utilized backward design and Integrated Performance Assessments (IPAs) in my classrooms.

I am constantly challenging myself through workshops, graduate courses, and other professional development opportunities because I am a lifelong learner, and I try to inspire this same spirit in my students.

I hold a Master's degree in the Art of Teaching (MAT) from Rutgers University and a second Master's in Spanish (Peninsular and Latin-American Literature) from Montclair University.

    Best.
