•          Hello! My name is Ms. Kelly Vucin and I will have the pleasure of being your third grade teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. This will be my eleventh year teaching 3rd grade in room 212! I consider my classroom to be my home away from home and strive to create a welcoming classroom community each year. I am also a proud homeowner in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

I was bitten by the travel bug a few years ago and got the urge to see the world outside of the U.S.  I have since traveled to Spain, Iceland, Portugal, and Poland. I have a newfound appreciation for cultural diversity.  Some of my most valuable life lessons were learned overseas. I am so grateful to bring that insight into my classroom.  I can't wait to learn about my student's travels and nationalities too!

I have a passion for the arts and have enjoyed performing on stage since I was six years old.  Throughout the years I have been dancing, singing, and acting my heart out!  Being part of every Music From the Heart performance since I began in Montgomery is one of my greatest joys. I was struck by the quote,
Good teaching is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths theater.”

Although I don’t agree entirely with the proportions of this quote, I do find truth within it.  I love that teaching allows me to meld all of my passions and in the process affect the lives of others.

Over the years, I have realized what a very special place VES is. I am still amazed at the transformation that takes place in my students from September to June.  It truly takes a village of support. I know that this year will be an unforgettable one for all of us!
