Sharing the experience makes it so much more meaningful!212 Highlights...* In Math next unit will focus on measurement. Students will be learning to measure to the nearest whole, half, and quarter inch and measure to the nearest centimeter using a ruler or measuring tape. We will be looking at volume and weight measurements as well. Word problems will be solved in connection to these measurement units.* As Writers we have delved back into using our narrative writing skills while drafting fractured fairy tales. Having the structure of an original fairy tale in mind, students have been able to make one significant change that leads to subsequent changes. We will continue through the writing process by revising, editing, and eventually publishing these twisted tales!
* As Readers our focus has been on researching animals in another round of book clubs. Students have learned how to take structured notes on various subtopics, grow ideas of their own based on the information authors have given them, and ask thoughtful questions and give reasonable answers. Students will soon be comparing animals, looking for similarities and differences.* In Science, after learning about the life cycle of plants, our focus has now shifted to animals. We're learning how they survive in their habitats, how they work together, and how they adapt.
