Dear Parent/Guardian:

The Montgomery Township School District believes in maintaining a balance among academic, social, and personal wellness needs. Our students use summer in order to relax, pursue new ventures, and socialize with family and friends. At the same time, we recognize that education is a continual process that does not cease at the end of a school year. Therefore, students are asked to complete reasonable and judiciously constructed summer assignments. This has been a longstanding practice in Montgomery, aimed at reinforcement, enrichment and advancement.

As always, summer work will be used as the foundation for other assignments and future assessments in that course of study. Students will be expected to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the material in a variety of ways. Please reference the attached list of summer readings and assignments for more information by either grade level or course.

It is highly recommended that you speak with your child about these important readings and assignments. We also encourage you to visit the web links provided on the corresponding list. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the specific content area supervisor directly.
