- Next Board of Education Meeting - Tuesday, March 18th
The next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday, March 18th at 7 PM in the OHES Cafeteria.
- 2025 SOAR Registration Open
Registration for our 2025 S.O.A.R. (Student Opportunities for Academics and Recreation) Summer Program is now open!
- NJ STRIDE Virtual Job Fair - Thursday, March 20th
NJ STRIDE's 2025 Virtual Job Fair will be held on Thursday, March 20th from 4:30 PM to 7 PM. Pre-registration is required and can be completed at NJSTRIDE.org.
- Strategic Plan Update Presentation
Updates about our 2024-2029 Strategic Plan were presented at the February 25th, 2025 Board of Education Meeting.
- Updated District Calendar
The district calendar has been updated following the closing on Thursday, February 6th. As a reminder, the closing means that we've used the first emergency closing contingency day of the three in our district calendar. This means that all schools will now be open on Tuesday, April 22nd.

- DATE CHANGE - MTEA Virtual Family Read Aloud
The Montgomery Township Education Association invites OHES and VES students, along with their parents, to attend our next virtual read-aloud. We will be reading "The Astronaut With a Song for the Stars: The Story of Dr. Ellen Ochoa" by Julia Finley Mosca on March 19th. Each family will receive a copy of the book delivered to their child's classroom after the event.
- OHES Book Fair
There are still a few days left to place an order for the Literati Book Fair! The fair officially closes on Monday, March 17th.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences
Spring Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled for March 25th-28th this year. For teachers who have selected to schedule conferences through Genesis, parents will be able to do so via the parent portal beginning Friday, March 7th at 10 AM. Should your child's teacher be scheduling conferences in another format other than Genesis, information on these sign-ups will come directly from the teacher.
- 2025 Bunny Brunch
Registration is now open for the MHS Class of 2027's Bunny Brunch! The event will be held in the OHES cafeteria from 8-10 AM on Saturday, March 29th. Please view the flyer for information about the event and details on how to register. The deadline to register is Wednesday, March 19th--space is limited, so don't delay!
- Fostering Independence in Your Preschool - Virtual Meeting
Join us for a virtual meeting to learn how to help your child become more independent through play, choices, space, and opportunities to learn and solve problems. The meeting will be at 10:15 AM on Thursday, March 27th. Send an email to lcalicchio@mtsd.us for the link to attend.

On Tuesday, March 25th, Montgomery Upper Middle School will be hosting an orientation for parents of rising 7th graders.

On Wednesday, April 9th, Montgomery Lower Middle School will be hosting two programs for parents of rising 5th graders.

- MHS Boys Basketball: NJSIAA Group IV Championship Game
For the first time in school history, Montgomery has advanced to the NJ GROUP IV CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! The game is on Sunday, March 16th at 6 PM at Rutgers University (Jersey Mike's Arena), and tickets are available now!
- Course Selection for Rising Sophomores

- MHS Senior Scholarship Application Deadline
The MHS Senior Scholarship Application is due on Monday, March 24th. There are over 50 local and school scholarships available, totaling over $70K!

- College and Career Fair at Hillsborough High School - Wednesday, March 19th
Hillsborough High School will be hosting a College & Career Fair on March 19th from 6 PM - 8 PM. Students from local high schools including MHS are invited and are encouraged to register ahead of time at www.strivefair.com.

- Summer Camps at the Somerset County Environmental Education Center
The Environmental Education Center located in Basking Ridge offers eight weeks of summer camp for children ages 4-16 from June to August! Information, such as dates and fees, can be found on the Somerset County Parks website or by scanning the QR code on the flyer. Registration will begin on Wednesday, March 26th at 10 AM.
- Spring 2025 NYC/NJ Integirls Math Competition
Join Integirls NYC/NJ for the largest global math competition for girls! This event, which is aimed towards female and non-binary identifying students in grades 3-8, will take place on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 from 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM at Rutgers University (New Brunswick/Piscataway campus). Registration, pizza, snacks, and swag are all free, and you can compete for $2,500 in prizes!
- You Can Join 4-H Clubs
Attention children in grades K-12: You can join Somerset County 4-H! Clubs meet year-round from September until August when members showcase their accomplishments at the Somerset County 4-H Fair (August 6–8, 2025). Of the 65+ clubs offered, many have space available.
