• An exciting initiative between Montgomery Township School District and the Center for Assistive Technology and Inclusive Education Studies (CATIES) at The College of New Jersey began in 2006.  CATIES is a research and service initiative of The College of New Jersey's School of Education.  It is dedicated to improving the educational experiences of children with disabilities by linking faculty and staff expertise with the needs of New Jersey 's educational community.

During Year 1, CATIES staff provided monthly hands-on in-service opportunities focusing on assistive technology for a select team of Montgomery teachers and then provided them with in-class technical assistance.  Year 2 focused on district wide assistive technology awareness and implementation marked with the creation of the district’s assistive technology website which is available as a resource for teachers, parents and the community.  During this unique two year partnership, collaboration between Montgomery’s AT Team and CATIES’ staff has increased district awareness, use and implementation of available assistive technology.
To date CATIES remains an important resource for knowledge and borrowed materials providing Montgomery Teachers access to Assistive Technology methods.
