Dear Parents of students entering 6th grade in September,
It is a NJ state law that all students, once they turn 11, must have received one dose of meningococcal vaccine and one dose of Tdap vaccine.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused healthcare providers to change how they operate to continue to provide essential services to patients. Ensuring that immunization services are maintained or reinitiated is essential for protecting individuals and communities from vaccine-preventable diseases and outbreaks. The CDC has issued guidance for safe vaccine administration during the pandemic.
Please contact your health care provider with specific questions and once the vaccines are given, please immediately send documentation to the school nurse (there is no special form).
Students are not allowed to start 6th grade in September without these 2 vaccines. Please contact the school nurse if you have any questions.
