National Art Honor Society has researched and designed a large fused glass wall hanging which will be suspended in the two story window of the main lobby atrium of MHS. The design is a geometric image with large, radiant color bursts. Traditional stained glass colors are echoed in the imagery. Bright, translucent reds, purples, blues, yellows and greens will float in the window-- visible from inside and out. During evening events the window will glow with large-scale color. This is a project that we believe will have a positive effect on the entire school community and even the community at large. Imagine coming to MHS in the evening for a recital and seeing the glowing color of the fused glass panels against the dark evening sky!
The two main principles of National Art Honor Society are to aid members in working toward the attainment of the highest standards in art areas and to bring art to the attention of the school and community. This permanent work of art accomplishes both principles by allowing the club members to design, engineer, learn, create, and educate.
