• BYLAWS FOR THE

    MONTGOMERY HIGH SCHOOL

    INTERNATIONAL CLUB

     

    ARTICLE I - PURPOSE STATEMENT

    SECTION 1. PURPOSE The purpose of the International Club is to support cultural awareness and tolerance of differences among all people. Fundraisers provide money for international travel scholarships, which are awarded to Montgomery High School students through an application process.

     

    ARTICLE II - MEMBERSHIP

    SECTION 1. MEMBERSHIP Membership is open to all MHS students in grades 9 – 12.

    SECTION 2. ENTITLEMENTS Members in good standing are entitled to all benefits and privileges of the Club.

    SECTION 3. TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP Any member of the Club, whose status is inactive due to insufficient participation, is subject to membership termination. Said member will be notified by the executive board or advisors of their inactive status.

     

    ARTICLE III - CLUB OFFICERS

    SECTION 1. No person shall hold more than one Officer position. The Officers of the Club shall consist of the following:

    A) President

    B) Vice-President

    C) Secretary

    D) Treasurer

    E) Public Relations

    SECTION 2. ELECTION OF OFFICERS Election of Officers for the subsequent year occurs at the final meeting of each year. Only active members are permitted to run for office and to vote. All candidates have an opportunity to promote themselves prior to election. Fair, anonymous elections are held.    

     

    ARTICLE IV - MEETINGS

    SECTION 1. REGULAR MEETINGS Regular meetings shall be held bi-weekly at such places, dates, and times as designated by the Officers and Advisors. Notice of any change in time, date, or place shall be given to the members.

    SECTION 2. SPECIAL MEETINGS Special meetings may be called as needed by the President or by Advisors. Notice of these meetings shall be given to the membership by the Secretary.

     

    ARTICLE V - COMMITTEES

    SECTION 1. There shall be committees for special events, determined by Officers and Advisors. Officers and Advisors will appoint committee heads to serve as liaisons between the Executive Board and general members.

     

    ARTICLE VI - FUNDS

    SECTION 1. DEPOSIT OF FUNDS. All funds of the Club shall be deposited in a qualified depository through administrative personnel.

    SECTION 2. REIMBURSEMENTS. Members may submit receipts with vouchers for reimbursement for items purchased for Club use.
