Matthew Pogue received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and his Master’s Degree in Counseling from The College of New Jersey. During his time at TCNJ he played for the men’s rugby team and later took on a coaching role. He was also an active member in the TCNJ counselor education department. He worked with professors in his role as a peer facilitator of counseling skills groups. Most recently, Mr. Pogue completed a year of internship by spending time here at MHS as an intern with Mrs. Grossmann and the Guidance department, as well as at William Tennent High School in Pennsylvania.

In his free time Mr. Pogue enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and playing rugby. He has successfully climbed Mount Washington, which is the highest peak in the northeast at 6,288 feet. The unfortunate irony of the hike was that he reached the top to enjoy the view only to discover there is a dense fog year round and consistent wind speeds of 25 mph. The lack of visibility was disappointing to say the least, but he plans to climb it again.
