I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Maureen Conway and I am proud to be succeeding Mrs. Cheryl Watson as your new school counselor here at Montgomery High School.  For the short time I have known Mrs. Watson she has been a great inspiration, mentor, and friend to me.  I wish her well in her new quest as she retires.

School Counseling is a new career for me. Previously, I worked for a commodities company in New York City.  The very busy trading floor had its appeal and was very exciting, however, I soon discovered I was moving away from my true passion.  While discontinuing work in order to care for my three children I returned to school at The College of New Jersey to follow my heart and to pursue a masters degree in counseling, as well as certification in both school counseling and student assistance counseling.  I have spent many years coaching various ages and sports. Providing support, encouragement, compassion, and guidance to children and adolescents is what I love to do.  I truly enjoy helping students to explore what makes them happy and guiding them to a future where they can nurture their individual talents and to achieve their goals.  Through the relationships I build with students comes the reward of learning from them and their unique perspectives.  I am very honored to serve the community of Montgomery and to be a part of an environment that aspires to promote the whole student and to foster social, emotional, and academic excellence.

I understand there may be apprehension in regards to Mrs. Watson’s retirement and a new school counselor coming in.  As you may already know the guidance department is very supportive and together we hope to make the transition as smooth as possible for the students and parents.  Please feel free to reach out to me with any concerns, comments, or questions.  Thank you for the privilege to serve you and your children.
